Welcome to the Community Baptist Church of Quakertown Web Site.
Summer is passing by quickly, but praise the Lord, we have some wonderful news to report. Our Mission Team returned
from a week in Chester, Massachusetts. They spent a week with Pastor Dan Herr, helping him with Chester Baptist Church's
Vacation Bible School. Six young people and one parent made decisions for Christ. Pray that fruit will continue to be reaped
from the seed that was sown.
Our Green Pasture's campers also made live-changing decisions after a week of
Bible challenges and mountain living.
Here at CBC, our own Vacation Bible Time is under way with Brother Tom Rickard
and his wife, Peggy. He will bring to life the story of Adoniram Judson, the first Baptist missionary sent out of America.
Jim and Lisa Dunn have organized a great team of teachers and helpers to give each child the personal attention and biblical
counselling they need. The morning session reaches children kindergarten through sixth grade, while the evening session focuses
on teenagers. We look forward to reaching hundreds of young people with the Gospel. Pray that many get saved and go on to
serve the Lord.
On August 10, the young men and women of CBC will handle the entire evening service. Student Pastor
Tom Delp will be preaching the Word. We praise God for the next generation stepping up in their service for the Lord.
We end August with Western Day on the 31st. Cowboys will be everywhere, along with boots, bandanas, and buggy
rides. Join us for some hot country preachin' and the finest vittles this side of the Rockies!
Pastor Gruber
is having his first service for the new body in Alliance, Nebraska on Sunday, August 3. The group has grown so quickly (over
30) that they can't fit in the Gruber home anymore. Praise the Lord that a store front space has been secured and an offering
was taken to purchase chairs. God is moving this young body for His glory.
Here at home, CBC has received the PennDOT
sign-off aproval for the work we were required to do on our new property. We are now awaiting land development and building
sketches as we plan for our move back to the Pennsburg. Praise God for His guiding hand upon us. His timing is best and we
wait upon Him.
What a time to be serving the Lord! If the Lord tarries, we look forward to a fall Bible conference
with Brother David Cloud, a Couples' Retreat with Dr. David Sorenson and much more. However, our love for the Lord is
not measured by these "things" that we do, but rather our obedience to His Word. He said, "If ye love me, keep
my commandments." He also said that, "...his commandments are not grievous." Our obedience to His Word is not
what some call legalism. Christ called it love.
Friend, why not visit us and see a body of believers that love
God and love people.
